Deputies said Jackson's child, who was in the home at the time of the shooting, went to a neighbor's house to call for help. That child is now with family.

"That's pretty bad that a little girl had to be involved in that. That's just not good, not good for anybody," said Vinduska.

On Monday, the sheriff's office reported serving Jackson with an eviction notice they said Chaney filed for. Then Wednesday, deputies said Chaney reported a gun missing from the home.

The shooting happened after 3 p.m. at a home at 1814 Southlake Drive, just off County Road 220.

The man involved in the shooting also called the sheriff's office yesterday to report that a gun had been stolen from the home.
